Rapunzel's Tower

COVID-19 seemed like the right time to sculpt the original patroness of isolation: Rapunzel! Made out of Grimm’s Fairytales (and specifically the pages that tell Rapunzel’s story), this sculpture is encased in a glass dome that measures 10 inches high by 6 inches wide. Creating the bricks and the roof shingles took an incredibly long time—each are 3 pages deep, and you can actually read parts of Rapunzel’s story as you travel around the tower.

In honor of Disney’s “Tangled,” I made Rapunzel’s braided hair glow and hid small flowers in it. If you look inside her tower as well, you can see her canopy bed. This sculpture is perfect for anyone that loves this classic tale!
