Cinderella's Ball: Magic Kingdom Globe

Cinderella is ready to attend her first ball in this one-of-a-kind, handmade sculpture. Crafted out of pages from Grimm's fairytales, her pumpkin carriage waits for the clock to strike midnight as she enters the magic and excitement of a ball in full swing. Unique and tiny details are hidden throughout the castle, from dancers already enjoying the ball to the individually cut and crafted cobblestones to the forest guarding the castle's back. This sculpture houses some of the most delicate and miniature pieces I've ever created, and it's all protected in a removable glass bell jar. I love this aspect of the sculpture – you can keep it safe behind the glass, but then remove it to look at each part up close.

This piece took months to create. Each cobblestone, tree, dancer, and pumpkin carriage swirl was lovingly handmade. Cinderella has been my favorite fairytale since I was four – there's something about the anticipation and excitement of her choosing to be brave and go to the ball that has always made my heart sing. I wanted to create a sculpture that I felt really captured the magic of that moment. I hope that this piece will go to someone who will cherish it, and who will be reminded of the magic of choosing courage and kindness each time they look at it.
